While the COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately affected women entrepreneurs and their business, it has also opened windows of opportunities for females to upskill, innovate and reposition their business for growth.
In this video, CEO of Tarango, Yeasmin Kohinoor, shares her challenges and triumphs.
Her products are handcrafted by women, with Kohinoor’s factories being eco-friendly.
During lockdown, tough times began. Kohinoor kept her employees going by having them produce products at home.
“I faced a real trial by fire,” Kohinoor says.
“Our work orders started getting cancelled one by one.
“I had to find a way to bring them (employees) food. Those were unbelievably tough times (but) I try to keep that from my team here,” she adds.
“If I get upset, everyone will have a breakdown.”
Supported by the SheTrades Initiative, her business is reaching new heights now.
