Australian manufacturing has been in terminal decline but coronavirus has revived it.
The widespread shutdown of global supply chains caused by COVID-19 has been good news for Melbourne truck and trailer equipment manufacturer D’Angelo Engineering.
The family-owned business which makes turntables, kingpins, skid plates and recreational vehicle fifth wheel assemblies, has seen a jump in sales.
Director Giulio D’Angelo, whose father Arrigo Danny D’Angelo established the business in 1968, makes parts for the transport industry using old skills and new technology.
Creating products based on customer needs, his best-selling piece is the fifth wheel, having recently launched the MiniMax which he showcased at the Brisbane Truck Show where we met him.
